The applause program at BEDP





Our recreational dance classes instruct in ballet, tap and jazz in a fun, no-stress, encouraging environment. Our recreational dancers perform in the annual dance recital in May, as well as the Mt. Holly Christmas Parade and Mt. Holly Springfest.  The Applause Program is a great choice for preschool dancers and dancers who are not interested in competition, but still want to advance their growth in the art of dance.






Baby Ballerinaz (ages 18 mos -2)

30 minute class

An introduction to dance and basic movement principles with music your child loves. Class will incorporate movements to music with games at times.

Dazzlerz (ages 4 by 9/1/25)

30 minute class

Concentration is placed on unison dancing, as well as proper technique. Class includes barre work, center work and introduction to across the floor.

Sparklerz (Kindergarten)

Progressions across the floor are introduced along with usage of proper dance terminology. Class includes barre work, center work and a new focus on performance.

Kickerz (Grades 1-2)

A more definitive relationship with dance and music is established. Students participate in barre work, across the floor, center work and solo presentation of steps. Includes tap, jazz and ballet.​

Theatre class with an emphasis on performance and incorporating dance and vocal. Will culminate in an end of year onstage presentation of a Broadway kids production!

Enrollment in Broadway/Theatre Vocal Performance class is required.

Theatre Dance (ages 13-18)

1/2 hour class

Most professional theatre job auditions often start with a first cut in the dance room. This class is designed for high school students currently in theatre training who want to explore dance training. The sessions will be customized to match each participant's unique level and needs.

Ovation Performance Troupes at BEDP







These groups are competition teams! If you are interested in auditioning for our Ovation Troupes, please register here for 2024 Ovation Booty Camp August 19 - 22.





Tiny Ovation Performance Troupe

(ages 4-6)

By placement only and must attend Mini Ovation Booty Camp to be considered for placement in this class. Class is to be taking in addition to Dazzlerz or Sparklerz class. Half hour class each week instructing on one routine to be competed 1-2 times in the 2025 competition season



​Mini Ovation Performance Troupe

(K - 2nd grade)

By placement only and must attend Mini Ovation Booty Camp to be placed in this class. Students will perform a ballet, jazz and tap routine in the recital in May. They will compete one/two of those dances at 3 regional dance competitions during the 2025 competition year.




Junior Ovation Performance Troupe

(2nd - 5th grade)

A high energy class with concentration placed on movement perfection and lyricism. Classes include intense warm-up, barre work, center work and precision movements. Students perform in the recital in May in addition to competing their dances at 3 dance competitions during the 2025 competition season.  Enrollment in Junior ballet, Jr Production and Jr Progressions is mandatory if participating in Junior Ovation Performance Troupe. 




Senior Ovation Performance Troupe

(6th – 12 grade)

Dancers will learn current dance styles in an age appropriate environment. All genres are separated so you may enroll in only the styles you wish. Enrollment in Senior Ballet, Sr Productions and Sr. Progressions is required. Dancers perform in the annual dance recital as well as compete in 3 competitions in the 2025 competition dance season.

Tumbling Classes





We offer an extensive tumbling and acrobatics program to achieve floor skills commonly used in dance performance and also in cheer.



Baby Tumblerz

Ages 2-3

1/2 hour class

Focus will be on flexibility and achieving body awareness to prepare for future achievement of tumbling skills.

Building strength and achieving basic tumbling skills are the focus of this class.

Flexibility and strength are still the focus. Skills to be trained on include cartwheels, front and back walkovers, bridge, front limbers and other tumbling skills of that level.

Junior Tumblerz

Ages 8-10

A tumbling class for our teen students. Pre-requisites are consistent cartwheels and roundoffs.

Micah's Buddies





BEDP is excited to offer a dance class tailored for children with special needs, including those with Down’s Syndrome, Autism, and Cerebral Palsy. Dance has proven to be beneficial for individuals with special needs in numerous ways. The rhythmic patterns of music and movement can often connect more deeply with people who have special needs than language or visuals. For those who struggle with written words, recognizing a melody or beat and replicating learned movements can greatly enhance self-esteem. Our curriculum, designed for developmental appropriateness, along with our nurturing atmosphere, creates an ideal setting for these children to delve into dance. Our Micah's Buddies classes, held weekly, are complimentary. Participants engage with listen-and-move songs, release energy, refine gross motor skills, and enjoy dancing alongside their volunteer buddies. We ensure a high-quality experience with certified instructors and student volunteers, fostering dance education, motor skill development, and social interaction in an enjoyable and caring environment.
